You’re still the one that makes me strong. Still the one I want to take along. We’re still having fun, and you’re still the one. -Orleans
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! I know LeBron James continued his domination of the Timberwolves last night. I know Chris Paul broke Alvin Robertson’s consecutive games with at least one steal record last night. I know Danny Granger was unconscious last night. I know these things. I’m smart! Not like everybody says…like dumb. I’m smart and I want respect!
Tim Duncan wants respect. He’s getting it. Playing like a man possessed. Playing with a bulletproof vest. Putting the rest of the league to the test. Yes I like the Big Fundamental. The big number-onedamental. The big best player under-the-sundamental. Tim Duncan had eleven rebounds last night. In and of itself, very nice. Big picture? Historic.
Duncan’s eleven rebounds last night increased his career total to 10,006. Yes, thirty-three other players in NBA history have at least 10,000 rebounds, but, Funken Tim Duncan’s only the 16th to reach that milestone for one franchise. As a matter of fact, only one other current NBA player has a five-figure rebound total for one team. Yowza! Only Kevin Garnett with the Timberwolves.
Big deal you say? Who cares you say? I say, in these days of free agency and watered down expansion, no one may ever reach this milestone again. Gone are the days of Hondo Havlicek. Gone are the days of Hakeem the Dream. Gone are the days of Patrick Ewing. Keep watching Tim Duncan. You’re watching history.
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
