This sky, too, is folding under you. And it’s all over now, Baby Blue. -Bob Dylan
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Poor Donovan McNabb. Well, I lay my head on the railroad track, waitin’ on the double E. But the train don’t run through here no more. Poor, poor pitiful me! The Eagles train don’t run through Donovan McNabb no more either.
At least it didn’t yesterday. Not in the second half yesterday. With the Ravens leading 10-7 at intermission, Andy Reid felt his team needed something more. Something more to settle the score. Something more than Donovan McNabb.
McNabb was 8-for-18 in the first half. McNabb threw for a paltry fifty-nine yards in the first half. McNabb had a god-awful 13.2 quarterback rating in the first half. McNabb was simply not getting it done. Andy Reid responded in kind. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you’re fired. For now, McNabb has himself a shiny new set of steak knives.
What does the future hold for Donovan McNabb? The Eagles’ All-Time leader in career wins and touchdowns, Donovan McNabb? Andy Reid ain’t saying. “I’ll evaluate it and see what needs to be done here, coming up for this game on Thursday.” Could this be the end for Donovan? My only friend, the end for Donovan? The end of an era? You know what the man says. The man says, time waits for no one. You better listen what the man says.
