Yankees Sign Swisher, Still Suck

It was you that chose your due.  You built a maze you can’t get through.  I tried to help you all I can.  Now I can’t do nuttin’ for you man.  -Public Enemy

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go! Ha ha ha!  Nick Swisher?  Really?  Nick f’n Swisher.  That’s the best you can do?

Know this sports fans, Swisher has a .242 batting average since becoming an everyday player in 2005.  Hee hee hee.  Among the 166 players who have at least 1500 at-bats since 2005, only five have a lower batting average than Swisher over that time.  Guys like Bobby Crosby.  Guys like Juan Uribe.  Like Brandon Inge and Khalil Greene.  That’s you answer?  Good luck, brother.

And you know what the best part is?  Huh?  Do ya?  The best part is Swisher’s acquisition from the White Sox helps prevent the Bombers from getting Mark Teixeira.  He sure would look good in Fenway.  Ha ha!  Roll Sox, roll!

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!

    Brian Cashman Says:

Gotta love having Swisher and Texiera. First of all, your consideration of Nick Swisher is unjust. He has had one of the better OPS since 2005 and has been a 25-homer, 25-doubles threat every year. He is worth about a hundred walks and puts up a respectable OBP.

In fact, his OBP the past five years has been better than:
    -Jason Varitek
    -Mike Lowell
    -Jacoby Ellsbury
    and studs:
    -Coco Crisp
    -Julio Lugo

Read Moneyball, pick a better statistic than batting average, and win another 23.

Oh yeah, we got Tex. Cheers.
