Whenever you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. -Arthur Conan Doyle
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Like my main man Larry Bird always says, “In Boston they always talk about how many championships you’ve won, so I think it’s very important for Paul to win one if he wants to be put up there with the great ones.” Well, he’s won one. Now, Like Q-Tip, he’s questing. Questing for another one. Questing to become an immortal one.
Too far fetched you say? It’ll never happen you say? I say he’s already making history. I say, last night, against the LeBron Cavaliers, Paul Pierce scored a game-high twenty-seven points in the reigning champion’s victory. I say, the Truth has now scored at least twenty points in each of his last ten season-openers. I say only three other players in NBA history have scored twenty-or-more points in ten straight season-opening games. Only Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Bob Lanier. Yowza!
During the pregame ceremonies, Pierce laughed. He cried. He said, “You dream of these moments, and to actually see your dream come true, it’s just unreal.” Then Paul Pierce did what Paul Pierce does best. He took over the basketball game. He outLeBronned Lebron. Just like he did last year in the Playoffs. Like he outKobed Kobe in the Finals. I’ve said in the past that Paul Pierce is the most underrated player in the world. That’s what happens. That’s what happens when you don’t play in big games on the big stage. Well, the Truth is, Paul Pierce ain’t underrated no more. But, for those of you who think Pierce’s hunger has been quenched, you better think again.
Paul Pierce Will Prove he’s The Best (Dime Mag)
