Oh all around, sound of breaking glass. Nothin’ new, sound of breakin’ glass. Safe at last, sound of breaking glass. -Nick Lowe
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! I want to like this guy, I really do. I’ve said time and time again I think he can win himself some championships. Not like this.
Two and a half minutes into his NBA debut Greg Oden suffered what the team called a sprain in his right foot. Egads man. Does it ever end? After winning Inidiana’s Mr. Basketball, Oden had surgery on his right wrist to repair a ligament injury. As a result, he sat on the bench during the beginning of the 2006-07 season with Ohio State. After being the number one overall pick in the draft, Oden had microfracture surgery on his ailing right knee. He missed the entire season. And now this.
When he was in sixth grade, Oden required significant hip surgery that left his right leg a bit shorter than his left. I wonder. I wonder if he, like Elijah Price, has something called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. A genetic disorder. Doesn’t make a particular protein very well. Makes bones very low in density… very easy to break. I wonder too, if he, like Elijah Price, sustained some fractures while in his mother’s uterus…Arms and his legs broken. I wonder if he, like Elijah Price, is indeed Mr. Glass.
Public Spectacle:
Is Greg Oden Sam Bowie? (Girls Dig Sports)
Is Greg Oden Ralpgh Sampson? (Walker Sports)
Is Greg Oden John McCain? (Sons of Bill Simmons)
Peace out homies. Six two and even!
Need More? Greg Oden,NBA,Portland Trailblazers

Interesting thought but Osteogenesis Imperfecta isn’t related to proteins. You were right about the low bone density but there’s much much more to consider and there’s no way in the world Oden has O.I. I understand the confusion if you were using the comparison of the “Mr. Glass” character because he’s an extremely inaccurate representation.
i understand. sometimes you need to go to the abdurd to get your point across
I feel sorry for this kid. It’s been one thing after the other for him.
He’s an amazing talent, but he’s carrying around too much weight right now. He needs to get back to his playing weight in college.
agrred hoff. i love this kid. i just want to see him play. is that too much to ask?
