Remembering The ‘42 Leafs

1942 Totonto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup

Dont call it a comeback!  I been here for years rockin’ my peers and puttin’ suckas in fear.  LL Cool J

Public Service Announcement:  Heading into tommorow night, my beloved Boston Red Sox have given the sports world reason to believe that history might be taking place.  Again.  Just like it did it In 1942.  Sherman, set the way back machine.

It was 1942 and the world was at war.  The United States had entered World War II just four months earlier, and Canadian forces had been dispersed throughout Europe since Germany’s invasion of Poland in 1939.  But more importantly, the Maple Leafs had dropped the first three games of the Stanley Cup Finals to the Detroit Red Wings

As legend has it, a fan, a young girl, had written a letter.  The letter pleaded for her beloved Leafs to make a seemingly impossible comeback.  Impossible is nothing!  The players took this appeal to heart and the Leafs were able to come back from the grave and a two-goal deficit in game four.  They went on to not only win that game, but the next three contests to become the first team to lose the first three games in a final series and come back with four-straight wins.  Yowza!

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

BallHype: hype it up!
