Stat of the day, who will it be?  Your vote will hold the key.  It’s up to you.  Tell us who, will be stat of the day.  -Community Auditions

Stat of the Day:  He may have been a year off, but he finally got it right.  Last night, Jimmy Rollins belted a leadoff bomb 390 feet over the right field fence and the Phillies went on to win, clinch the series, and advance to the next postseason round.

Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say, Rollins connected off Jeff Suppan to start Game Four of the Phillies’ first-round matchup with the Brew Crew.  I say, ten days later, he did it again, taking Chad Billingsley yard at the outset of Game Five in La La Land.  I say, combined with a leadoff homer off Colorado’s Franklin Morales in Game Two of a first round playoff series last year, Rollins became the first player in major league history to start three different postseason games with a jack leading off his team’s first inning.  I say he became the first player in history to hit jacks of that type in two series-clinching games over the course of his career, let alone consecutive series in the same year.

Is it any wonder Rickey Henderson is his idol?  I am my ideal.  But YOU are my idol.  Eric Von Zipper adores you.  And when Eric Von Zipper adores somebody, they stay adored.  Phillies fans sure do adore Jimmy Rollins.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
