Stat of the Day: It takes two to make a thing go right. It takes two to make it out of sight. Cole Hamels defeated the Dem Bums in the Championship Series opener with Brad Lidge recording the save. Just like they did in the Fightin’ Phils victory over the Brew Crew in Game One of the Division Series. Big deal you say? Who cares you say? I say, only two other pairs of teammates combined for a win and a save in back-to-back series openers during one postseason. Only Jack Mount Morris and Rick Aguilera for the 1991 Twinkies. Only John Smoltz and Mark Wohlers for the 1996 Braves. Can they make it three?
Peace out homies. Six Two and Even!
Need More? Brad Lidge, Cole Hamels, MLB, Philadelphia Phillies
