Stat Of The Day

Stat Of The Day:  Keep your eye clear, and hit ‘em where they ain’t.  Ichiro had three hits last night.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say Ichiro Suzuki just tied Wee Willie Keeler’s record of eight consecutive 200-hit seasons.  Yowza!  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say that record has stood untouched for 107 years.  107 years!  Holy cow!

Keeler’s eight-year run of 200 hits extended from 1894 through 1901.  He reached 200 hits in September 1901, the same month that Teddy Roosevelt became president following the death of William McKinley!  Bully!

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

BallHype: hype it up!
