Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Word has it the Giambino has shaved his mustache. Back in May, we saw Giambi’s average drop to .191. Then on a lark, Giambi decided to join his teammate Johnny Damon in growing a mustache. The rest is history.
Next thing you know, Giambi is raking. Next thing you know, Giambi is one of five American League candidates in the “Final Vote” competition for the All-Star game. The American Mustache Institute: “It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that Jason Giambi’s hitting prowess, plus a fashionable mustache, equals a bona fide All-Star.” Now, that fashionable mustache is history.
Giambi, 12-for-66 (.182) since July 3 after going 0-for-3 yesterday, shaved off the mustache after the Yankees‘ 14-9 win over the Angels. Is he still wearing the thong?
