Frank Martin says Walker is one of the smartest players he’s ever coached. I say he’s one of the most explosive players I’ve ever seen. I say when Michael Beasley was on the bench dealing with foul trouble during Kansas State’s first round upset of USC, it was Walker who carried the Wildcats to victory. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like… victory.
He’s big. He’s strong. He’s quick. He could turn out to be one of the best players chosen in this here draft. Like Carlos Boozer. Like Anthony Mason. Like Monta Ellis. Like those guys there. Like those guys there, this guy was a steal.

I had the Celtics taking Walker 30th overall in my last mock draft. I was bummed they passed on him. Not because I’m a Celtic fan, but because I knew he’d fit in perfectly there. He was second fiddle to OJ Mayo in high school and to the Beaze in college so he’d be perfect for the Celtics’ mentality.

Glad to know he’s on someone’s radar. As a KU alum, I saw first hand what BW is capable of. However, the Martin comment? Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t he a high school AAU coach prior to the K-State gig? My point being, he’s comparing BW to a talent pool worthy of a rec league all star game. BW is a talent, but he’s got a shorter fuse than a shitty m-80. He’ll be a nice addition, the vets on the C’s should help him cool out a bit.
