To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. Woooo! -Rick Flair
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Ric Flair. The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Time for me to pay my due to the Nature Boy. Flair wrestled his final match at WrestleMania XXIV. The Nature Boy wrestled his final match at WrestleMania XXIV one night after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Ric Flair was a kiss-stealin’, wheelin’-dealin’, jet-flyin’, limousine-ridin’ son-of-a-gun. Woooooooo! Sixteen World Championships. More than Bill Russell. More than Charles Haley. More than Henri Richard. More than Muhammad Ali. More than Yogi Berra. More than Richard Petty. More than Edwin Moses. More than all them. Year after year. Match after match. Belt after belt. The Nature Boy has been simply the greatest grappler in the history of professional wrestling. Simply the best. Better than all the rest. Better than anyone, anyone I’ve ever met.
The greatest athlete in the history of sports. Figure Fouring his way into our hearts. I’ll forever remember the image of Flair defeating “the American Dream,” Dusty Rhodes, for his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship. I’ll forever remember the image of Flair anchoring the Four Horsemen. I’ll forever remember the image of Flair battling Sting. Battling Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat. Battling Terry Funk. Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, ‘cause it’s the best thing going today. Wooooooooo! At least it was. Happy Trails Nature Boy. You will be missed.
Public Spectacle:
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
