Public Knowledge:

1.  Are the Rockies a team of team of destiny?  Will the Rockies ever lose again?  They just beat the best pitcher in the NL over the last two years.  Beat him real good like.  Jeff Francis beat him.  Francis has made nineteen starts of six-plus innings and two or fewer runs this season.  The Rockies have won sixteen of those.  Colorado is 41-4 when Francis gives the team that kind of start.  Yowza!  Easy to understand.  Much harder to execute.

2.  John Schuerholz stepped aside Thursday after seventeen years as general manager of the Atlanta Braves.  If I’m the New York Yankees I try and get him today.  Fourteen straight division titles.  Say what you want about the only one World Series, but he put the horses out on the field.  He is the best at what he does.  New York would be foolish not to at least make an attempt to land this cat.

3.  Mats Sundin.  The best you’ve ever seen.  The best there’s ever been.  The best Toronto fans have ever seen.  Mats Sundin just broke the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ two biggest scoring records.   Just broke the Toronto Maple Leafs two biggest scoring records and took all three stars last night.  Sundin scored his 390th goal for his 917th point to break ties with Darryl Sittler for club records in both categories.  Just so you know, Darryl Sittler Sittler set the NHL record for most points scored in one game when he recorded ten points (six goals, four assists) against the Boston Bruins.  Yowza!

4.  Dirk the Bug Killer: (Thanks to Mavs Moneyball)

5.  More Yankees talk.  I gotta think if Joe was going to be fired, he’d be fired already.

6.  I know that I can’t take no more.  It ain’t no lie.  I wanna see you out that door.  Kobe, bye, bye, bye.  Dr. Buss has had it with the Mamba’s humiliating his family and bemoaning his team.  Dr. Buss has had it with Bryant’s constant crying.  Dr. Buss will listen to trade offers.  Dr. Buss will eventually take one.  It may not be today.  It may not be tomorrow.  It will happen.

7.  Say it ain’t so.  Mike Lowell, who will become a free agent, has expressed interest in playing for the Fightin’ Phills.  I love Mike Lowell.  If weren’t for him, the Sox may not be in the position they’re in.  He’s an RBI machine.  A lean mean RBI machine.  He’s a Gold Clove caliber third baseman.  Unless they go after A-Broad the Red Sox should make a concerted effort to resign this cat.

8.   How bout them Dolphins?  Last year’s pet pick to win it all.  This year’s pet pick to not win a game.  Trent Green two concussions in thirteen months.  Out indefinitely and uncertain whether he’ll ever play again.  C-Pep long gone.  Quinn the Eskimo waiting his turn in Cleveland.  This is about as bad as it gets.

9.  Quick.  Who’s the league leader in rushing.  Fast Wiilie Parker.  Faster than a speeding bullet.  That’s who.  Big deal you say.  Who cares you say.  I say this.  Fast Willie Parker has a chance to become the first Steeler to ever lead the league in rushing.  Ever.  The Bus never did it.  Franco never did it.  John Henry Johnson never did it.  Rocky Blier never did it.  Frank Pollard never did it.  Dick Hoak never did it.  Fast Willie Parker just may do it.

10.  Roll Sox roll!

Peace out homies.  Six Two and Even!
